Around 200 homes were affected by a burst water main on Thursday.
Scottish Water crews spent most of the morning tending to the damaged pipe near Peat Inn, just off the B940 road.
Various properties in postcodes KY8, KY9, KY15 and KY16 were affected by the incident, which led to homeowners experiencing loss of water supply, low pressure and discoloured water.
A Scottish Water spokesman said: “The burst pipe was discovered early yesterday morning and a repair team was despatched quickly to carry out the necessary repairs and to help restore supplies as soon as possible.
“Normal services were restored to most customers affected by late morning.
“Around 200 properties were affected by some disruption to their water supply as a result and we would like to apologise to all customers affected for their patience while this work was carried out.”
The spokesman said that it was not clear what had caused the main to burst.
“We have a huge network of pipes that we are constantly maintaining and investing in but, unfortunately, our pipes do burst from time to time and, when they do, we do our best to get on site and repair them as soon as possible to minimise any disruption to our customers,” he added.
