‘No danger to the public’ police end Tayport driver investigation

Police in Fife say they are no longer investigating the report of a man approaching a schoolgirl in Tayport on Monday.
Detective Inspector John Anderson said: “Following a thorough investigation into this matter, we can confirm that we are no longer making enquires into this incident and are satisfied that there is no danger to the public.
“We would like to thank the local community for their assistance and co-operation while this enquiry was conducted and to also take this opportunity to reassure the residents of Tayport that we no longer consider this to be a criminal matter.”
The Madras College rector had contacted parents after a report that an 11-year-old girl was approached by a man in a car in the Tayport area shortly after 4pm on Monday.
