Warm tributes have been paid to a Dundee man who died in a car crash on the A92 in Fife on Monday.
Brian Crayford (38) was described as a “great guy” by staff at a city pub where he was a regular customer.
The 38-year-old, who worked as a duty manager for ScotRail at Edinburgh Waverley station, died after his car went into a ditch between Parbroath and the Letham crossroads junction, near Cupar.
Mr Crayford was the only person in the car.The fatal accident was one of more than 15 crashes on Monday as ice and snow gripped the east of Scotland.
The former Menzieshill High School pupil and Dundee College student was a regular at the Klozet Bar in Seagate.
Jaki Thomson, who works there, said he would be sadly missed.
“He was a great guy,” she said. “He loved life and was always full of fun.”
A spokesman for First ScotRail said: “All our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this time.”
His family were too upset to speak as tributes poured in on social networking sites.
Michael Lawson said: “RIP Brian, great cousin and all-round nice guy. Can’t believe it.”
Alan Melville said: “So sad to hear of a friend who passed away in a car crash. RIP Brian Crayford, so going to be missed.”
James McGregor-Parr said: “So sorry to hear this tragic news. I grew up beside Brian, he and my family were neighbours for years. We have lovely memories of him.”
The A92 was closed in both directions for several hours on Monday while an investigation was carried out.
Police have appealed to anyone who was travelling on the stretch between 5.30am and 6.30am to contact them on the non-emergency number, 101.
