Residents of a Kirkcaldy community are to be given the chance to design their own streets.
A consultation will take place next month giving residents of Pathhead input into the redesign of street layouts in their neighbourhood.
The move is being undertaken in a bid to get more people involved in healthy activities such as cycling and walking.
It will focus on the streets and paths surrounding Pathhead Primary School, specifically Cairns Street West, Beatty Crescent, Kilgour Avenue, Haig Avenue and MacIndoe Crescent.
It is only the fourth time such an exercise has been carried out in Scotland, with two of the previous projects having also taken place in Kirkcaldy. The event is being hosted by Fife Council and Sustrans.
Executive spokesman for transport and environment Councillor Pat Callaghan said: “Street redesign projects like this one help local people to work together and come up with new ideas to make their streets more vibrant places.”
The consultation will take place at Pathhead Primary between 3pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday.
