Fife man twice turned away when trying to report a crime

Fife Police have apologised after a man trying to report a crime was told twice to come back later.
Hadyn Anderson (20) said he went to Kirkcaldy Police Station at 2.10pm on Monday after a man tried to sell him drugs in the street.
But when he went to report the incident, he was told to come back after 3pm.
When he did return, he said a sergeant “shrugged his shoulders” and suggested phoning instead.
A spokesman for Fife Police said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to close our Kirkcaldy inquiry office for a short time on Monday.
“There is an out-of-hours intercom that public callers can use to speak to our force contact centre. Unfortunately, this was not working properly and is now being repaired.
“We very much apologise to anyone that was affected, and if you still need to contact the police, please contact 101, where we will do our best to help you.
“We would take this opportunity to apologise for anyone who was affected.”
