Dunfermline Athletic were able to focus on football for 90 minutes last night although players and staff will today be bracing themselves for possible job cuts.
The Pars were able to play host to derby rivals Falkirk after the crisis-hit club entered interim administration on Wednesday, staving off the immediate threat of liquidation.
But while everyone at East End Park would have been relieved to concentrate on football, it will be back to the harsh reality of the situation today when wage cuts and redundancies will almost certainly be on the cards.
Administrators PKF have taken over the day-to-day running of the Fife club and will be looking to drive down costs before the Court of Session decides whether or not to put the Pars into full administration on April 11.
The freezing weather may have put some fans off going along to East End Park last night, but it was a disappointing turnout given the club’s circumstances.
Sadly, things were little better on the pitch, Falkirk running out 2-0 winners.
However, the hardy 2,879 supporters who braved the cold certainly made themselves heard and will be hoping their club can pull through.
