A fashion show has boosted a fund to help poorer students study at St Andrews by a record-breaking £27,500.
Organisers of the FS 2013 St Andrews Charity Fashion Show made the donation to the St Andrews University’s 600th anniversary campaign.
They and models handed over the cheque to principal Professor Louise Richardson. As well as the show in St Andrews in February, a fashion show was staged in Covent Garden during London Fashion Week.
Funds from both will go towards the Wardlaw Scholarship, which provides financial help for academically-gifted students who would otherwise struggle with the cost of study at the university.
Fashion show director Guy Hartley said: “I would like to personally thank all our guests for helping us raise a fantastic sum of money for the university but also to our dedicated team of committee and models.”
In 21 years the show has raised more than £300,000 for charities.
