There are fears for a Fife hillwalker who failed to return to his holiday accommodation on Skye on Saturday night.
A major search was launched for Oliver Smith who is believed to be from Cupar who set out for a walk on Sunday morning.
The 33-year-old, who is on his own, planned to climb the Blaven peak then descend and walk via Loch Coruisk and the coastal path to Elgol, police said.
He was reported missing in the evening and a crew including members of the Skye Mountain Rescue Team, a Stornoway Coastguard helicopter and police dogs found no trace of the walker.
The search for Mr Oliver was due to resume at first light today.
There were growing fears for Mr Smith’s safety last night as temperatures plummeted once again after the warmer weather on Saturday.
Mr Smith is described as 5ft 7in, of slim build with short brown hair and stubble. He wears glasses and when last seen he was dressed in khaki trousers, a black jacket, black hat and he was carrying a small blue/grey rucksack.
