Crews from Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes fire stations attended the blaze in the stairwell of the Glamis Road property at 1.15am. A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said it was a fire in rubbish which was brought under control by 1.50am. He added that nobody was injured or required medical treatment, but residents received reassurance from fire service personnel.
