A woman has been taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg after falling whilst walking on the Fife Coastal Path.
The Anstruther lifeboat was launched at around 2.30pm after reports of a woman on the foreshore between Elie and St Monans.
The woman was accompanied by another adult, three children and a dog when the boat arrived on the scene, close to Newark Castle.
Because of issues accessing the area, the inshore boat took the casualty to St Monans where a waiting ambulance transferred the woman to Ninewells Hospital.
Coxon Michael Bruce said: “The family had obviously been on the coastal path.
“It was not too big a fall but it could have been a lot worse.”
