The wife of a Fife man who died in a tree-felling accident at the weekend has paid tribute to a “loving husband and father.”
Norman Robertson, who was 67 and from Springfield, died after the accident at Brigton Farm, by St Andrews, at around 10am on Saturday.
In a tribute to her husband, Joyce Roberston said, “Norman was a loving husband and father, who worked hard throughout his life to provide for his family.
“We are all struggling to come to terms with his passing at this time.”
A police spokesman said, “Emergency services were called to the farm shortly before 10am on Saturday following reports that a person engaged in tree felling had been struck by a falling tree.”
The spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Roberston’s death. A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal at Cupar, and officers have also informed the Health and Safety Executive.
Brigton Farm is near The Grange, around three miles south of St Andrews.
