There was a jawsome treat for Scouts from across Scotland last night as they came face to face with some creatures of the deep.
Over 300 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts converged on Deep Sea World in Fife for the action-packed evening of underwater discovery.
The event, which is the largest gathering of Scouts and Cubs at the North Queensferry aquarium, came about after a nationwide competition to name the attraction’s new sand tiger shark.
Scout, as he was finally named, came from Ireland earlier this year in a delicate and ambitious 18-hour journey after he outgrew his old home. The Scouting world was invited to enter a competition to name the shark.
Young Fife Cub Scout Ewan Penman (9), from Burntisland, came up with the winning name. He and his friends from the 11th Fife 1st Burntisland Cub Pack have already visited Deep Sea World to see Scout settle in.
But last night was a chance for other youngsters to meet up with the 2.2 metre long, 100kg shark and see all the other displays at the aquarium.
