The closure of a stretch of a major Fife road is set to cause headaches for motorists from today.
Drivers using the A92 will be subject to a diversion for six weeks as the Edenbank Bridge, near Freuchie, undergoes strengthening work.
Due to the narrow nature of the crossing, BEAR Scotland, the company that maintains trunk roads on behalf of Transport Scotland, has decided to close the busy stretch during the work.
Originally scheduled to start on Monday, it was postponed for 48 hours because of the strong wind.
Now set to start today, it is expected the works will take between 10 and 12 weeks to complete, with motorists being diverted via Strathmiglo for the first six weeks.
Transport Scotland advises people to allow extra time for journeys. For more information visit roadworks.bearscot.com
