Following a public meeting on the new Burntisland Primary School, a local councillor has requested further clarification for residents from council officers on why the selected site was chosen.
Many residents expressed concerns over the choice of the East Toll Park site at Friday’s meeting and queried why it was chosen over others, particularly the Seamill and Roundhouse sites.
Now Lib Dem councillor Susan Leslie believes that officers should have more fully explained the decision and has asked for more clarity.
“It was clear at the meeting that a significant number of people had questions and concerns about the East Toll Park site, and why other sites had been rejected, in particular the Seamill and Roundhouse sites,” she said.
“As a result, I’ve asked for urgent meetings with officers to gather together as much information as possible to explain reasons for these decisions.
“I will then feed back these answers to the community council and local residents, to ensure that all Burntisland residents are as informed as possible about the decisions being made around the new primary school.
“Anyone who would like access to this information should not hesitate to contact me and I will make it available.
“We need to ensure that more information is available during difficult planning decisions.
“Rresidents may not agree with the decisions being taken, but they still have a right to be as fully informed as possible.”
