Final preparations are under way for Scotland’s charity music festival The Big Stooshie, which takes place in north-east Fife this weekend.
The gates open at 11am on Friday, with a flypast by a Typhoon of 6 Squadron based at RAF Leuchars scheduled for 11.45am.
Then the band Bags of Rock will open the main stage with an energetic set featuring bagpipes, drummers and a full rock band.
The Big Stooshie will welcome some of the biggest bands to Fife for the three-day extravaganza.
Britpop icons James are joined by platinum award-winning Glasvegas and punk legends The Damned as the festival’s three headliners, with other confirmed acts including Simon and Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene, The Hoosiers, Complete Stone Roses, From The Jam, The Boomtown Rats and The Beat.
The event takes place from Friday to Sunday at the Howe Country Centre in Giffordtown and aims to raise more than £100,000 for Help for Heroes and SSAFA Forces Help.
Featuring more than 60 acts between two undercover stages, along with various stalls, a chill-out zone, catering services and a funfair, there is also on-site camping for those wishing to experience the full festival atmosphere.
Festival director Jim Russell said: ”This is a massive event for Fife. It has been a long time in the planning and the excitement surrounding the festival is enormous.
”Hopefully everyone will have a great time and we will raise plenty cash for the worthy charities.”
Organisers have confirmed that tickets will be available to buy from the on-site ticket office over the weekend.
Camping upgrades will also be available for those with day tickets at only £10 per head.
Due to popular demand, limited half-price tickets are also being offered to under-14s, when accompanied by an adult. These tickets must be purchased at the festival itself.Find out more at www.bigstooshie.com
