Jeremy Kyle Show sets Perth woman on search for real father

When her beloved mother died a decade ago, Zeena MacDonald thought she had lost all hope of tracing her biological father.

Now, however, the 35-year-old from Perth has appeared on a national television programme in a desperate attempt to find out more about her roots.

The Muirton mother-of-four featured on daytime favourite The Jeremy Kyle Show on Wednesday, along with her elder sister, Audra Buchanan (41).

The pair travelled down to Manchester at the start of the month to film the segment, which revealed the results of a DNA test and confirmed they have different dads.

With that knowledge confirmed, Zeena, who works as a carer for the elderly, has issued a heartfelt plea to the Perthshire community for any information that might help her search.

Her mother, Anne Toms, worked as a barmaid at a number of public houses in Perth throughout the 1970s, notably the White Horse Inn on North William Street and The Corrina Hotel on Atholl Street.

Born in November 1976, Zeena would have been conceived in February or March that year, when Mrs Toms was 26.

”We believe mum may have had relationships with pub patrons and she was also quite familiar with workmen building Drumhar Health Centre,” sister Audra told The Courier.

”My dad’s name is on Zeena’s birth certificate but we have both known for a good number of years that he probably wasn’t her biological father and now we know for sure.

”No one knows who he is; we don’t have a name or a description.

”I love Zeena and think of her as my full sister but want to help her find out the other half of her ancestry. It means a lot to her.”

Zeena continued: ”My mum died 10 years ago and never told me who my real dad was.

”I have always had a strong wish to find him but, as I’ve got older and had my own children, it has become more important.”You can see the show on the ITV Player here
