A Crail nanny faces losing her job after a court heard she was caught driving while more than 2 times the alcohol limit.
Isla Horsburgh went on a night out with her boyfriend before getting behind the wheel.
At Cupar Sheriff Court, the mother-of-two (25), of Dorward Drive, admitted driving with excess alcohol (93 mic, the legal limit is 35) on March 13.
Depute fiscal Tracy Plant said the offence came to light after police had cause to stop Horsburgh and could smell alcohol on her breath.
Meanwhile, solicitor Hilary Eldridge told the court her client had been desperate to get home to care for her young children.
She said, “Her two young boys were at home with a babysitter and she was keen to get home.”
Sheriff Mungo Bovey said, “The extent to which you were over the limit takes this out of the category in which I can restrict the penalties to the minimum.”
Horsburgh was accordingly banned from the road for 16 months and ordered to pay a fine of £140.
