An appeal for witnesses has been issued after a 19-year-old man was assaulted on a Fife-to-Edinburgh train.
He was attacked on June 21 by three men and a woman on the 23.23 Cardenden to Waverley service. He was approached by the group who shouted abuse before pushing him to the ground and repeatedly punching him on the face.
He was able to leave the train at Haymarket but was followed by his assailants, who continued to assault him, leaving him with bruises to the body and face.
Although the incident occurred around four weeks ago, British Transport Police are asking anyone who may have seen what happened to contact them as soon as possible.
BTP Detective Constable David McAllister said, “We have spoken to witnesses and obtained descriptions of those believed to be involved that we hope will help the public bring vital information to the investigation.
“We’re continuing to make local inquiries and are also asking anyone with information to get in touch.”
The first suspect is said to be 6ft 3in, white, of slight build, with short black hair and wore a white football top.
The second was 5ft 10in, white, aged 20-25, of heavy build, with long centre-parted hair and wore a blue Scotland rugby top. The third was 5ft 8in, Asian, of toned build with short black hair, in a white T-shirt and grey jogging bottoms and had a black rucksack.
