A brave Fife girl who survived cancer is fronting a national campaign to find other junior heroes.
Georgia Hillman (5), of Dunfermline, who received a Cancer Research UK Little Star Award a year ago to honour her bravery, is taking the lead role in this year’s campaign to encourage other families to nominate their children for the award.
Showing off her trophy, Georgia’s smiling face beams out from the charity’s new leaflets encouraging parents of children who have received a cancer diagnosis to nominate them for a Little Star Award.
The annual Little Star Awards celebrate the courage of all children who face up to cancer.
Georgia received her award last year after she was nominated by her dad Ben as a surprise for the family.
Her mum Ruth, a professional photographer who took Georgia’s photograph for the Cancer Research UK leaflet, said: “Georgia is undoubtedly a Little Star and she really enjoyed receiving her award.”
The family were given the tremendous news that she was in remission in July 2009.
