A woman who fell from a cliff near Aberdour has died.
The 25-year-old climber suffered serious head injuries when she fell about 40ft onto rocks at Hawkcraig Point on Wednesday.
She later lost her life in Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. Her identity had not been released.
The woman was with a group from Edinburgh Mountaineering Club when the tragedy occurred at around 9.50pm.
A rescue mission involved 26 firefighters from the Scottish Fire Service, including a specialist rope team from Lochgelly, Coastguard teams from Kinghorn, Leven and South Queensferry, the RNLI Kinghorn Lifeboat, police and the Scottish Ambulance Service.
