Police were called to an Angus school after a pupil was involved in an alleged breach of the peace.
A girl has been spoken to in connection with the incident at Brechin High School. Police confirmed that two ofcers had been called to the school on Monday.
A spokesman said: “Tayside Division has reported an incident at a school in Brechin to the Youth Justice Assessor, following a complaint from a member of staff about the conduct of a pupil.”
Angus Council education convener Sheena Welsh said: “Obviously it’s a concern if the police are called but it’s the individual call of the school responding to an individual situation.”
Asked what Angus schools were doing to combat wild behaviour, she said: “The policies are in place. Unfortunately not everyone adheres to them.
“It’s not only the school’s responsibility it begins in the home with the parents who spend the most time with the children.
“Some young children are not coming from disciplined environments.
“Discipline and responsibility have to be fostered in our young people. Those values are very important and we try and promote them in our schools.”
