The owner of a missing pure white falcon has asked the public to be on the lookout for the bird.
The Gyr-Saker falcon was lost in the Guthrie and Friockheim area on Sunday at around 3pm.
The bird is a hybrid animal, a cross between a Saker Falcon and a Gyrfalcon. The Saker is a large bird but the Gyrfalcon is the largest of the species.
No images of the missing falcon have been released but a spokesman for Police Scotland said: “The bird is likely to be sitting on rooftops and whilst not a danger to the public, can only be handled by its owner.
“Anyone who has seen the bird or knows where it is now should get in touch with Police Scotland on 101.”
