Runrig legend plays to full house on Valentine’s date in Montrose
ByRob McLaren
Donnie Munro, the former Runrig frontman, performed a special acoustic gig in Montrose for Valentine’s night.
The concert at Montrose Town Hall was a sell-out, attracting a number of fans from Germany, where he has a large following.
Runrig built up a strong German fan base in the 80s and 90s, when Munro was lead singer of the Gaelic band and last year he played 12 gigs across Germany.
Opening the night were Angus pipe rockers Gleadraich, who have recently played with Queen and Texas.
Support also came from Stonehaven man Colin Clyne, who is tipped to hit the very top with his band the Carrons.
