“I am not a racist” Scottish Defence League organiser defends Dundee rally plans

The organiser of the controversial far-right rally planned for Dundee next weekend has declared: “I am not a racist.”
Graham Walker said the Scottish Defence League is opposed to “extreme militant Islam” and is inviting ordinary Dundonians to hear the group’s views at the demonstration planned for next Saturday.
“We are doing this because we believe in freedom of speech,” said the 35-year-old from Leith. “We have a right to get our views across to the public, and if there has been trouble at our rallies in the past it has not been caused by us.”
The SDL staged a demonstration in Dundee city centre a year ago despite not having permission to gather. There was an awkward and noisy stand-off between them and anti-racist groups but no trouble broke out.
