Brilliant first Comic Con is simply out of this world

If you were in need of a hero at the weekend then there was only one place to be as superstars of the sci-fi world descended on Dunfermline.
The town hosted its inaugural comic book convention or Comic Con and drew hundreds of visitors to the town.
Taking centre stage at the event was a replica of the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones, while a Star Wars battle re-enactment and weapons from the movies display proved popular.
Around 2,500 tickets were sold for the Glen Pavilion gathering, with many of the visitors choosing to dress as their favourite characters for the occasion.
As well as the established stars of the bookshelves and silver screen, the event also gave local talent the chance to shine, including artist Claire Roe, who was demonstrating some of her work.
Organiser Alby Grainger said: “We are planning to make this an annual event here in Dunfermline and I don’t see why it can’t become the best event of its kind in Scotland.”
