The search is on for young “unsung heroes” from across Perth and Kinross.
This year’s Spirit of Youth Awards have just been launched and nominations are now being accepted.
The awards aim to recognise the achievements of young people in the arts, health, sports and the community.
Each category of award will have three finalists and one winner. There will also be an overall Spirit of Youth Award winner who will be selected from the category winners.
The junior awards are for entrants aged between seven and 11. The award categories are healthy lives, achievement in sport, community award or team award.
The senior awards are aimed at the 12 to 25 age group and have the same categories as the junior section. There is an additional award in the senior section for achievement in the arts.
This award is for contributions to the arts in Perth and Kinross.
To nominate a deserving young person for any of the above awards a nomination form can be requested by emailing spiritofyouth@pkc.gov.uk or sending a stamped addressed envelope stating the number of forms required to Spirit of Youth Awards, Fairfield Neighbourhood Centre, 2 Fairfield Avenue, Perth, PH1 2TF.
A separate nomination form must be used for each award if you are nominating a young person for more than one award or are nominating a number of young people for various awards.
You must also have the young person’s agreement before submitting a nomination for them.
The winning entries will be selected by an independent panel of judges and should be returned by September 25.
Winners will receive their awards at a ceremony to be held in Perth Concert Hall in November.
The convener of Perth and Kinross Council’s lifelong learning committee, Bob Band, said: “The Spirit of Youth Awards are all about being exceptional.
“These accolades celebrate outstanding local young people and I would like to take this opportunity to wish each and every nominee the very best of luck.”
