Two Eminem fans from Perthshire almost missed out on Tuesday night’s performance by the rap superstar in Glasgow after a blunder by Royal Mail.
Brian Hewat shelled out £150 for two tickets to give to his future brother-in-law and was expecting delivery of the gold-dust briefs in the morning.
However, the 24-year-old claims his postman failed to ring the doorbell at his home in Bridge of Earn and left a card explaining that the tickets would be sent back to the depot.
When he called Royal Mail they said the postman still had the tickets and would be unable to re-deliver them because he was working a double shift.
However, The Courier stepped in and Royal Mail agreed to send the tickets to Bridge of Earn on time for Eminem’s performance.
Brian said: “I bought them as a thank-you present for my brother-in-law Sheldon, who’s helped me and my fiance a lot. He’s a big fan and was very excited about it.”
Sheldon Hird, 27, said: “I was absolutely gutted and I was very angry too.”
The Courier phoned the Royal Mail and spokeswoman Felicity MacFarlane said: “Royal Mail has arranged to re-deliver this item to the customer this afternoon and apologises for any inconvenience caused.”
Sheldon added: “I’m over the moon that the tickets arrived on time. I’d like to thank The Courier for helping.”
