A fire in a common close forced the evacuation of 21 people from their homes.
The drama unfolded at around 7.15pm on Thursday in the close of flats at Cairns Place, Hillyland, Perth.
A spokeswoman for Tayside Fire and Rescue said firefighters were called to put out a fire in a pram on the ground floor of the building.
”Twenty-one people had to be temporarily evacuated following the fire,” she said. ”No one was seriously injured but a 26-year-old female was treated for smoke inhalation. The tenants were moved out of their flats as the smoke was percolating up the close.”
Many of the tenants had taken refuge on their balconies to escape the smoke. After around 20 minutes the evacuated residents were allowed back in to their homes.
The spokesman added that six breathing apparatus sets and one hose reel were used in the operation.
