The annual festival of the Order of St John took place drew crowds to St Ninian’s Cathedral in Perth.
Some 29 members of the order were invested in recognition of their commitment and service to St John Scotland, a charity that helps improve the safety, health and quality of life of people in need.
Clad in their distinctive ceremonial black robes, they walked in procession along North Methven Street and into Atholl Street before returning to St Ninian’s for the ceremony.
Among those invested were Brigadier Melville Stewart Jameson, the lord lieutenant of Perth and Kinross.
Following the ceremony, there was a lunch in Perth Concert Hall.
The principal guest was Alfred Ingram, chairman of the Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland.
He spoke about the mountain rescue teams and the importance of St John Scotland’s support, which amounts to more than £2.5 million.
