The family of a Perthshire hill walker killed in an accident at the weekend were told of her death as they celebrated her grandson’s 12th birthday. Lisa MacDermid, of Comrie, died after falling nearly 500ft while climbing near Glen Coe on Saturday afternoon. The 63-year-old suffered head injuries and was pronounced dead on the hillside at around 2.10pm. A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal. Daughter Kate Baxter-Harris said they had been enjoying an outing with friends in Leicester when police called and broke the news on Sunday. She said her mother was an experience hill walker and added that she would be “sadly missed”.
