Two Kinross men accused of stealing plaques from a restored war memorial will stand trial at Perth Sheriff Court on March 23.
Wayne Slaven, 44, and Joseph Miller, 42, both deny taking three bronze panels from the Orwell War Memorial in Milnathort between July 22 and 24, 2013.
The solicitors of Slaven, of Sandport, and Miller, of High Street, both Kinross, told Perth Sheriff Court they are incriminating each other for the alleged offence.
The plaques allegedly disappeared just hours after fences were taken down following a £13,000 refurbishment of the war memorial.
Depute fiscal Jim Eodanable asked the court for an adjournment after an agreement could not be agreed by the legal parties concerned.
“Extensive discussions took place this morning and the Crown had an understanding that there could be a joint minute, but this never happened,” he said.
