Man in custody after woman’s ‘suspicious’ death in Bridge of Earn
ByRichard Rooney
A man is in police custody after a woman died in suspicious circumstances in Bridge of Earn.
Police were called to an address in Horsemill Place at around 1.30pm on Friday.
A police spokesman said there had been a “suspicious” death but refused to confirm local rumour that the woman had been stabbed.
He said: “Police Scotland is investigating the death of an adult female at an address in Bridge of Earn, Perthshire. The death is being treated as suspicious.”
Police gave no further details of the man who is being held over the death.
There is a heavy police presence in the quiet cul-de-sac, which lies near the M90.
Several police vans could be seen parked both next to the property and in neighbouring Muirmont Crescent.
Residents were questioned by a solitary police officer before being allowed past the cordon to their homes.
Some told The Courier they were “stunned” by news of the death.
