A £200,000 fundraising target has been set for a Perthshire charity event.
Breast Cancer Care is urging people to join the charity and an army of walkers on Saturday May 16 for the annual Pink Ribbonwalk around the grounds of Scone Palace and into the countryside.
Returning for the seventh year, this time there is an option to walk a shorter five-mile route, as well as the 10-mile and 20-mile options.
The shorter route will be open to children over the age of eight, while the age limit for the 10 and 20-mile routes has been lowered to 14, so it’s a day families can enjoy together.
This year approximately 600 people living in Perthshire will receive the devastating news that they have breast cancer, and the charity is there to offer them vital support.
Breast Cancer Care is the only UK-wide support charity helping the thousands of people who wake up to the harsh reality of breast cancer every day.
Participants will be asked to raise £100 in sponsorship to help fund the charity’s specialist services that help people live with, through and beyond breast cancer.
It costs £30 to register to take part and £15 for under 18s, and they receive free entry to the venue grounds.
There is no minimum sponsorship for under 18s.
Every participant will receive an event pack with details, a pink ribbon to write a personal message on, a Pink Ribbonwalk T-shirt, medal, celebratory hot post-walk meal and a certificate.
