A Perth man has been jailed for 12 years for violent and sexual crimes against two women and seven children in Perthshire.
David McLeish was previously found guilty of rape, sexual assault and assault at various addresses in the area after a two-week trial at the High Court in Edinburgh.
The 49-year-old’s campaign of terror began in September 1996 and ended in December 2009.
His victims who cannot be named for legal reasons were aged between four and 43.
The court heard two women were pregnant when he raped them and that he battered children with belts and slippers.
McLeish was convicted of four charges of rape and two of lewd and libidinous conduct.
He was also found guilty of eight charges of physical assault and two charges of sexual assault.
At the High Court in Glasgow today, McLeish was sentenced to 12 years in prison and six further years of supervision following release.
He has also been placed on the sex offenders register.
