Drivers on the A9 face up to long delays after resurfacing began south of Perth this week.
As The Courier reported on Tuesday, the £1.6 million project will see badly-needed work on the dual carriageway between Aberuthven and the southern turning for Auchterarder.
The stretch has been littered with potholes, opened during the harsh winter.
Transport Scotland said the work should be completed by the middle of April. There will be a break for Easter weekend, during which lane restrictions will be removed.
Right turns from the Aberuthven junction on to the A9 southbound will be banned during the works, though people travelling south on the A9 can turn right into Aberuthven.
All right turns will be banned at the Whitemoss Road junction and the Auchterarder Sewage Treatment Works access road during the works.
A temporary 50mph speed limit is in place, with a 30mph restriction at the crossovers at each end of the contraflow and over the Aberuthven junction.
