Popular Scottish actor Andy Gray is set to take the stage as guest auctioneer at the Perth 800 Charity Ball next month.
The event hosted by Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service (PKAVS) in partnership with Perth and Kinross Council will take place on Friday, September 3 in Perth Concert Hall.
The ball will raise funds for PKAVS, a charity supporting over 5000 disadvantaged children and adults in the area every year.
The occasion has caught the attention of many Perthshire celebrities including actors Colin McCredie of Taggart fame and Alan Cumming, who have donated signed memorabilia to the worthy cause. Other lots will include a pair of Lord and Lady titles.
Over 150 guests will attend the event, which includes a civic reception, dinner, dancing with ceilidh band The Gallivanters and a charity auction and raffle. The ball will also celebrate nine months of community fund-raising towards PKAVS Mount Etna Volcanic Challenge a five-day trek to the summit of the volcano in Sicily, which will take place two weeks after the ball.
With supporters raising nearly £20,000 through the challenge already, the ball will highlight some of the outstanding achievements made by local people.
PKAVS marketing and development manager Helen MacKinnon said, “Businesses and celebrities from across the UK have supported the event. We are also looking forward to revealing a very exclusive and specially-commissioned auction item over the next few weeks as the ball draws nearer.”
Tickets for the ball are £45 and are available from Helen on 01738 567076.
