Perthshire beauty Katharine Brown has been crowned the first young ambassador of the veterans’ charity Erskine.
Miss UK Katharine (23), from Dunblane, said she was “truly honoured” to be given the title when she visited the Erskine Home in Bishopton at the weekend.
Over the past year the charity has cared for over 1370 ex-service personnel between the ages of 24 and 103, providing first-class nursing and medical treatment.
Like a true forces sweetheart, Katharine spent most of her trip to the home chatting to veterans, some who served in the second world war.
The former Miss Scotland was also shown around the home and learned more about the services it provides.
Erskine chief executive Major Jim Panton, who welcomed Katharine, said, “I was very impressed with her energy and enthusiasm and was delighted when she accepted our invitation.
“The veterans were thrilled to meet Katharine and they are very grateful for her support.”
