Less than two months after major surgery, Perthshire youngster Jack McNaughton is making big strides.
The fun-loving three-year-old, who suffers from cerebral palsy, amazed parents Stacy and Graham this week by taking to his walker with no prompting, before racing across the floor.
Proud of himself, little Jack continued to chase his dad around their Almondbank home with a big smile on his face.
After £75,000 was raised by the local community, Jackwho was destined to live life in a wheelchairtravelled to St Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri in November.
Doctor T. S. Park performed surgery, known as selective dorsal rhizotomy, which successfully eliminated all the spasticity in his young body.
Now STV’s The Hour has invited the family to talk about their experiences.
Jack, Stacy (25) and Graham (30) will join Michelle McManus and Stephen Jardine tonight at 5pm.
Stacy hopes the appearance will allow people to see Jack’s progress and says she wants to thank all who helped him.
“This will be an amazing new year for my family, better than we ever imagined.” she said.
“Jack is going from strength to strength and working so hard with both his physio and his dad, who helps him with all his exercises at home.
“He’s been using his walker since he got home before Christmas but we had to encourage him and stay close bywhen he zoomed off by himself the other day I was speechless.
“He just started chasing his dad across the room. We didn’t have to ask him to move. He was grinning from ear to ear.”
