Six injured as car bursts into flames in head-on crash near Perth

Six people have been taken to hospital after a crash on the outskirts of Perth which saw one of the vehicles burst into flames.

Two cars one containing five teenagers were involved in a head-on collision on the A85 Perth to Crieff Road at Lochty at around 9.40pm on Thursday.

The crash involved a Silver Peugeot 106 with five teenage occupants two males and three females travelling west towards Crieff and a Grey Nissan Primera with a single 65-year-old man travelling in the opposite direction.

Emergency services were quickly at the scene and the occupants of both vehicles were treated before being taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where their condition is not considered to be serious.

Police say there there were a number of other vehicles in the area at the time and they are appealing to anyone who saw the crash or the vehicles leading up to the collision to contact them on 0300 111 2222.
