A hillwalker has been rescued from Glen Lyon after falling into a marsh.
Although unhurt, the man, who has not been named, was wet, cold and exhausted during the ordeal and called Tayside Mountain Rescue from his mobile phone at around 6pm on Sunday.
The 72-year-old, who was on holiday in the area from Glasgow, had walked to the top of Carn Mairg and it was during his descent that he got into trouble.
Rescuers reached him at 9.50pm and were able to assist him off the mountain and take him back to his camper van.
Carn Mairg is a Munro situated 18km west of Aberfeldy.
Sgt Colin MacDougall of Tayside Mountain Rescue said: ”This walker was well equipped for the hills, but it just demonstrated that anyone can get into trouble even in the summer time and it is always advisable to walk with others or leave information with someone on where you are walking and what time you plan to return.
”Fortunately he had the presence of mind to call us in plenty of time before hypothermia set in and we were able to warm him up and take him safely back to his van.”
