Fine weather attracts thousands to Pitlochry Highland Games

More than 5,000 people flocked to Highland Perthshire at the weekend for the final Highland Games of the season.
The day of Pitlochry Highland Games dawned with bright sunshine, attracting crowds eager to see the finals of the heavy events.
The Colthart family dominated the competitions, with Lorne breaking three records to be declared the overall winner, as well as Perthshire champion, Pitlochry champion and Perthshire junior champion.
His younger brother, Harry, also enjoyed success in the under-14 events.
The 10-year-old won in four categories, as well as emerging victorious in the under-14s 100m running event.
Two new events were added to the games this year the Sir David Butter Special Prize for best young athlete and the Pipe Major Sandy Spence Memorial Trophy for best piper.
These were won by Kyle Sadeghpoor and Stuart Liddell respectively.Click here for a full photo gallery
