Police this morning confirmed that a 36-year-old man has been charged and is due to appear in court in connection with the death of Perth man Sandy Kelly.
The move comes after 26-year-old Mr Kelly, of Dunkeld Road, was discovered seriously injured in Bute Drive, near its junction with Gowans Terrace, shortly after 6.30pm on Tuesday.
He was taken by ambulance to Perth Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later.
In a statement released through the police today, Mr Kelly’s family said he was a “much-loved son, brother, husband, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed by us all.”
They added: “We are struggling to come to terms with the fact that he has gone.”
Police say the arrested man is due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Friday.
