Motorists and pedestrians were left shocked after a pensioner died while driving through Perth.
Police have appealed for witnesses after the tragedy on Dunkeld Road at 9.45am on Saturday.
No personal details of the 69-year-old victim have been released other than his age.
A statement revealed the man had been driving a blue Fiat Marea, registration SJ51 UHK, which left the road near the Asda supermarket.
It was established the driver had become ill and subsequently died. It is unclear whether any other vehicles or people were involved in the incident.
A spokesman said: “As with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. Tayside Police ask that any person who witnessed the incident call 0300 1112222.”
