Boy attacked in Rachel House grounds after online spat
ByThe Courier Reporter
A spat on social network sites led to a 15-year-old boy being assaulted in the grounds of the Rachel House Hospice in Kinross.
The youth was chased through the town’s streets by teens Glenn Buller and Jamie Holden, who each punched him in the face once he was cornered.
Solicitor Cliff Culley said there had been “ill feeling” as Holden believed the victim had been “trying it on” with his girlfriend by text message. “He’d had a drink and when he saw him in the street he confronted him,” he added.
Buller’s agent, David Holmes, said his client had clashed with the complainer on social media following allegations that his girlfriend had been “pushed over”.
“This was the first time they had met since that incident,” he said.
Buller, 17, of Oakview Street, Kelty, (formerly Green Road in Kinross) and Holden, 17, of High Street, Kinross, admitted assaulting their victim in Avenue Road on February 19 by punching him on the face to his injury.
The pair will return to Perth Sheriff Court for sentencing on October 2.
