Police are conducting inquiries in Kinross-shire following the death of a 46-year-old woman who was hit by a vehicle.
The incident took place around 1pm outside an address in South Street, Milnathort.
It’s understood at least five units sped to the scene around 1pm where they were later joined by scenes of crime officers and an ambulance.
A bystander, who lives near the site, told The Courier one vehicle had been covered in tarpaulin by police with an area of land cordoned off with tape to allow officers to carry out their investigation into the crime.
“There were five police units and scenes of crime officers there, along with an ambulance,” he said.
“Someone was taken away in an ambulance.
“It must be a fairly major incident to have so many police at the scene. There were even police vehicles down side lanes.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside Division said: “The police are making enquiries into the death of a 46-year-old woman following a collision with a vehicle outside an address in South Street, Milnathort, Kinross, at about 1pm this afternoon. Inquiries are at an early stage.
“Anyone who was in the area at the time and has information that could assist police with their enquiries is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
