A driver who weaved across a street packed with schoolchildren was found to be almost four times the legal drink-drive limit.
Simas Masiulevicus, 32, admitted being under the influence on Perth’s Crieff Road on May 9. A breath test revealed he had 139mics of alcohol in his system the legal limit of 35.
Depute fiscal Jim Eodonable said: “Foot traffic was high it was mainly families and school children. It was 3.30pm, school home time.
“Police officers were concerned at the driving of the car in front of them as it was weaving about.”
Solicitor David Sinclair, defending, said: “He’s under no illusion he will not be able to drive a car for some time to come.”
Sheriff Kenneth McGowan deferred sentence for reports and banned Masiulevicus, of McKenzie Court, Perth, from the road in the interim.
