Two Alyth men have been jailed for carrying out a brutal assault in the town.
Kenneth Douglas (29) and Jason Sturrock (25) burst into their victim’s home on December 18 last year to rain blows upon him.
Perth Sheriff Court heard the two men forced their way into a house in Commercial Street to threaten their target before punching him on the head and body to his severe injury.
Both men, who have previous convictions for assault, pled guilty.
Sheriff Robert McCreadie told the pair: ”This was a vicious and depraved attack, carried out within a small community and on a man in his own home.
”Each of you is equally guilty of this assault. This had the potential for a very serious outcome for your victim.”
Douglas, of Commercial Street, was jailed for two years while Sturrock, of Morrison Terrace, was imprisoned for 17 months.
