Even this its reputation for high-class goods and well-heeled customers, Perthshire store House of Bruar has been the target of shoplifters in recent times.
The shopping complex off the A9 near Blair Atholl has been visited by light-fingered “customers” on numerous occasions but has announced it is fighting back.
A more modern CCTV system has led to the conviction of seven would-be thieves in recent months.
Retail manager Robert Day said, “Gone are the days of grainy VHS tapes as these new cameras can provide an unmistakable image from 300 metres away.
“Everyone, police included, comment on the quality of the images and how they are the best they have seen.
“The system is quick and easy to use and is a great tool in the fight against shoplifters. To prosecute all people who try to steal from us.”
