Volunteers have already been busy cleaning the ground prior to the opening day of the annual convention on Friday. The Witnesses bring a financial boost to the Perthshire economy, with many staying locally. An estimated 8000 will attend on each day. It is also understood that the Jehovah’s Witnesses convention will return to McDiarmid Park next year and also in 2013. A spokesman for the Jehovah’s Witnesses said, “The daily themes are based on passages from Scripture.” The Let God’s Kingdom Come! event takes place from 9.20am-4.55pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 9.20am-3.40pm on Sunday. Admission is free.
