A workman who forced other motorists to swerve to avoid being smashed into on the motorway was found to be nearly four times the limit in his Transit van.
William McPhee, 47, was banned from driving after he admitted driving carelessly while drunk on the M90 between Perth and Inverkeithing.
At Perth Sheriff Court on Tuesday, McPhee, of High Street, Kinross, admitted being drunk at the wheel and giving police a lower alcohol reading of 126 mics, when the legal limit is 35 mics.
He also admitted driving carelessly while drunk and swerving about the carriageway, forcing other motorists to take evasive action to avoid being struck by his van.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis deferred sentence for reports until next month.
